I liked these exercises. One of the challenges with setting up self-assessment exercises for something like this is that many members of your audience will just want to take what they’ve learned and move directly into working on a problem they are interested in. Since these exercises where quick (even getting the answers was quick with those great little java script expansions) it will probably increase the proportion of users that actual use them.
